Houston County pitched its third-straight shutout Friday. The Bears were at Valdosta and beat it 3-0. Cameron Jones and Chandler Dawson helped make that happen. Jones threw four innings. He gave up three hits, struck out one and walked three. Dawson worked the final three. He gave up two hits, struck out three and walked one.
All of the Bears’ runs came in the first. Jones also helped lead the offense. He was 2-3 with a run scored. Corbet Luna was also 2-3 with an RBI and run scored.
Houston County improved to 1-0 in 1-AAAAAA as a result, 8-6 overall. Valdosta fell to 1-1, 11-3.
Northside was at Lee County Thursday where it fell 11-1. That left the Eagles at 0-2, 7-4 overall and Trojans 1-0, 8-6 overall.
Also, Warner Robins was at Harris County Friday. That was not good news for the Demons as they lost a doubleheader. They lost the first 10-0 and second 14-3.
They fell to 0-5 as a result – last in 1-AAAAA – and 3-11 overall. Harris County improved to 5-0, 10-2, and currently leads the division. Thomas County Central is in second at 4-1, 12-1, followed by Bainbridge at 2-2, 5-6 and Veterans at 1-4, 5-10.
