Centennial knocks Bears out of state tourney

Centennial put an end to Houston County’s soccer year Wednesday on Freedom Field. The Knights of Roswell beat the Bears 7-3.

Neither was able to score approximately 20 minutes in but Kevin Velasquez got Centennial on board first with about 17 minutes showing. Heath Henry, who had two of the Bears’ goals, tied it shortly thereafter, but Osvaldo Cabrales gave the Knights the lead back with about three minutes to go.

Don Deedson Vixamar, made it 3-1 inside two minutes. He had three goals on the night. The second of those came very early in the second half.

Henry’s second goal cut it to 4-2 but Vixamar scored again after that.

Hunter Henry accounted for the Bears’ third score. They finished the year 13-4-1 and Region 1-AAAAAA champions (5-0). Centennial improved to 16-4-0.
