Warner Robins’ girls scored three goals in the second half to pull away from Thomas County Central Friday at home. (The boys’ results over the Yellow Jackets were unknown as of this writing.) The Demonettes were up 1-0 at the time – heading into the half.
The win put them at 4-1 and in second in 1-AAAAA. They are 9-1 overall. That lone loss came to Veterans, 5-0, on Feb. 22.
Speaking of which – the Lady Warhawks. They were in action as well, at home against Houston County, and played to a 1-all tie. On the flip side, Veterans boys won 4-2.
Record-wise following the non-region contest, the Lady Warhawks stand at 7-2-1 overall (they are 4-0 and atop the standings in 1-AAAAA; Warner Robins is second). The Lady Bears are 7-1-1 overall. They are also 2-0 in 1-AAAAAA and in first.
Veterans’ boys are 5-5 overall (3-1 and in first in their division) while Houston County’s boys are 7-7 (2-0 and in first in 1-AAAAAA).
Northside’s girls and boys were also in action for a region battle at Valdosta. That translated into a sweep by the host. The Lady Wildcats won 5-3 in a game that was 4-3 at the half. The Eagles fell 3-2, with the two tied at one at the half.
The Lady Eagles fell to 0-3 and are in last as a result. They are also 3-4-2 overall. Valdosta is 1-1, 3-3 and just above them in the standings.
The Wildcats are 1-1 and in second, 3-4 overall. Northside’s boys are 1-2 and in fourth (Lee County is below them at 1-2, 3-7). The boys are also 9-3 overall.
Also in action was Perry. It was at home against West Laurens where both clubs won 2-0.
For the Lady Panthers, it was their first Region 2-AAAA win. They are now 1-3, 2-9-1. For the boys, it was their fourth division win without a loss. They are 4-0, 5-4 overall. West Laurens’ girls fell to 0-4, 2-7-1 and its Raiders 2-2, 6-3-1.
