This is Dennis Clark along with Billy Andrews reporting tonight for SportsMic:
The Northside Eagles improved their record to 2-0 with a 38-7 victory over the Knights from Evans High School. Northside got on the scoreboard first on a 53 yard pass from Tobias Oliver to Jaylan Sandifer on the first play of the game; possession for Northside extra point was good by Justin Alonzo. Alonzo added a field goal with 5:40 left to play in the first quarter from 20 yards out to make it 10-0.
And then after a fumble recovery, Northside went on an 82-yard drive that ended with Oliver going over from 1 yard out on the drive on a dive to make it 16-0; Alonzo again added the extra point, 17-0. Northside got on the scoreboard a little bit later with a run by Desean Dinkins, 14 yards out, after a 3:55 drive; Alonzo added the extra point to make it 24-0. And the last score of the first half came on a 5-yard run by Dinkins; Alonzo added the extra point.
With a running clock for most of the second half, Northside’s lone touchdown came in the third quarter. In the final seconds of the ballgame, a 41 yard pass ended in a TD for the Knights. That was the lone score for Evans.
