hfmo2SportsMic’s Halftime Spotlight this week shines on the WRHS Demon Marching Band. Maintaining a legacy of artistic excellence and school spirit under the leadership of Director of bands  Todd Howell, and Assistant Band Director, Sean Workman, The Demon Marching Band musicians don’t just entertain fans at halftime – they bring it. The venerable band has not only marched in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the talented musicians have also netted their fair share of grand championships: Okefenokee Sound of Gold (2000), Greater Atlanta Area Marching Championship (2005), and Pierce County Sound of Silver (2011).

“The members of the WRHS Bands have made a tradition of their commitment to excellence.” reads the band’s website, “The past years of commitment, established by alumni and current performers, challenge each of its members to take pride in past accomplishments and make a personal commitment to the band’s future success.”
