Northside and Houston County met on the soccer field Wednesday – at the home of the latter – and let’s just say it was not a good day for the Lady Eagles. They lost to their Region 1-AAAAAA opponent and crosstown rivals 10-0.
The Lady Bears stayed unbeaten and on top in the division as a result. They are 3-0 in region play, 9-1-1 overall. Northside fell to 0-4, 3-5-2, which currently has the girls in last.
The boys’ side was considerably closer – understatement – with Houston County winning 3-2 in overtime.
The win also kept Houston County’s boys unbeaten and in first in region play. They are 3-0, 7-7 overall. Unfortunately for Northside, three of its four losses have come against division opponents, and that’s left it currently in last at 1-3, 9-4 overall.
