Perry’s run at a state championship in volleyball came to an abrupt end Wednesday at the hands of Northside, Columbus.
The Lady Patriots beat the Lady Panthers in their Sweet 16 matchup, 3-0. They won the first game 25-11, second 25-6 and third 25-8.
Northside moves on to play St. Pius X a 3-1 winner over Blessed Trinity.
Perry was not alone, as Houston County also suffered a season-ending loss to Glynn Academy.
The Lady Bears did not go down without a fight. They lost 3-1 in the best-of-five, losing the opener 25-18, but winning the second game, 25-22.
Glynn, however, took the third game, 25-16, and fourth, 25-19.
The winner goes on to play Pope, a 3-2 victor over Apalachee.
