Veterans’ girls shut out Warner Robins Wednesday. The final was 6-0, with the Lady Warhawks scoring three goals in the first half and a trey in the second.
If that wasn’t impressive enough, it was their fourth-straight shutout, fifth overall, and in the other two wins – seven wins, no losses; 2-0 in Region 1-AAAAA – the girls only gave up one goal. All told they have outscored opponents 41-2.
Despite the loss, the Demonettes – the home team this time out – are still in good shape at 4-2-1, 2-2.
Veterans’ boys are just a hair slightly less impressive. With five goals in the first and three in the second, coupled with one by the Demons in the second, they won 8-1. (Warner Robins was actually able to break their string of four-straight shutouts with the goal.) Getting a pair of goals were DeAngelo Howell and Logan Luque, while Aaron Kieweg, Giovanni Reyes, Tayler Troup and Max Wilkins each scored one. Luque also got an assist whereas James Silence had a save.
The Warhawks had 19 shots on goal, while the Demons managed just two.
Overall, the Warhawks are 6-1, 2-0 in 1-AAAAA – the loss 2-1 to Colquitt County. They in turn have outscored opponents 32-3.
Warner Robins’ boys are still trying to find their groove, as they are 2-4, 2-3.
