A reversal of fortunes.
That’s been the results between Perry and Veterans in two matchups this season; good news or bad news depends on which side of the fence you’re on.
For the Lady Warhawks, that has resulted in two wins. The latest came Tuesday, a 33-28 victory at home. Veterans jumped out to a nice lead in the contest with an 11-2 advantage after one. It was 17-6 heading into the break.
Perry mounted a bit of a rally in the second half – outscoring the Lady Warhawks 13-8 in the third and 9-8 in the fourth – but it obviously wasn’t enough.
Veterans improved to 6-1 with the win, while Perry fell to 1-8.
On the flip side – at least for the host in this particular case – Veterans has lost twice to Perry. The Panthers won the latest – also Tuesday – 64-42.
They outscored the Warhawks 12-10 in the first and 18-7 in the second. Twenty points to seven by Veterans gave them a 50-24 lead heading into the final frame.
For Perry, it was the sixth win in nine tries. The Warhawks on the other hand fell to 2-5.
In two other matchups Tuesday, Northside split against Upson-Lee. The girls – this one at home as well – won 60-39 to improve to 7-1. Upson-Lee fell to 6-3.
The visiting boys in turn beat the Eagles 81-49. Upson-Lee remained undefeated at 9-0, while Northside fell to 1-3.
