Warner Robins had a chance to honor its seniors Thursday when it hosted and beat Lee County. Recognized were: Brittney Kelly, Jessica Henry, Natalee Nino, Treasure Davis, Anna Slaughter and Jeneva Gibson.
“I am going to miss my seniors tremendously,” said Head Coach Cassie Bennett. “They have stepped up and been great leaders this year on and off the court. They are mentoring our freshman and showing the underclassman the level of play that has now become expected.”
The first game was “really close,” Bennett said, with the Demonettes winning 26-24. The second set had a much larger margin thanks in part to Ally Bishop serving 10 in a row – four of those aces.
“Serving aggressively yet ‘over and in’ made a huge difference,” said Bennett. They played so well together last night. I really cannot be more proud of how well they have been playing lately. They just need to stay focused and keep playing that way.”
In addition to Bishop, Hayley Shepherd had five kills and Davis two blocks.
