Trevon Williams and Doug Duvall each scored double digits to help lead the Warner Robins boys past Jones County Saturday at home. Williams connected for 20 points and Duvall 15 as the Demons rolled, 96-75.
Warner Robins led 21-14 after one and 43-28 at the half. It outscored its visitor 24-19 in the third for a 67-47 advantage heading into the final frame.
Garrien Wade and Adam Jackson combined contributed to most of the Greyhounds’ offense. The first scored 25 and the second 23.
With the win, the Demons remained undefeated. They are now 7-0. Jones County fell to 5-5.
Warner Robins’ girls also won, 55-52. They improved to 6-1 while Jones County’s girls fell to 2-8.
Elsewhere, Northside’s girls beat Central 43-36 to improve to 3-1, while giving the Lady Chargers their first loss in eight contests. The Eagles were unable to do the same on the boys’ side. Central remained perfect – 6-0 – after beating the boys 65-35, Northside falling to 1-4.
On Friday, Veterans hosted Howard and swept. The boys won 59-57. The girls rolled 59-33.
Bryce Lewis scored 15 and Zytorian Williams 10 to lead the Warhawks, who led by only a point, 27-26, at the half and three, 46-43, heading into the fourth quarter.
Veterans moved to 3-5 with the win, while the Huskies fell to 2-7. The Lady Warhawks on the other hand, improved to 7-1, while Howard’s girls fell to 1-9.
Other scores Saturday included Houston County’s girls over Glenwood of Phenix City, Alabama – at their place, 57-42, and Perry’s boys over Dooly County 62-50.
