Demons, Warhawks suffer twin-bill losses; Eagles fall

Close. That was Warner Robins’ fate Friday – at least in the first game of a home twin-bill against Region 1-AAAAA opponent Ware County.

The Demons, who lost to the Gators 10-0 on Monday in five innings, fell only 6-4 in their second meeting. In fact it was only 3-2 heading into the fifth inning. Ware County scored three that inning. Warner Robins answered with two in the bottom of the sixth, and had the tying run on second, but couldn’t get him in. They went down in order in the seventh to give the Gators the win.

The nightcap was a different story, with Ware County winning 13-3 in five innings.

The Gators improved to 5-1 in the division, 10-7 overall, with the win. Warner Robins fell to 0-3, 5-9.

Veterans suffered the same fate while hosting Coffee. It lost the first game 3-0 and the second 9-2.

Coffee improved to 3-3, 13-7. The Warhawks fell to 1-5 – three of those losses now to the Trojans – 5-12.

Also, Northside fell to Valdosta 15-2 in five innings its Region 1-AAAAAA road matchup Friday. The Eagles got on the board first with a run in the top of the first, but it was to be short-lived. The Wildcats pushed five across in the bottom of the inning, then made it 9-2 with four runs in the third. They finished it off with six in the bottom of the fourth while out-hitting Northside 8-4.

It was the third time Northside had lost to it.

Valdosta improved to 3-2, 12-8. The Eagles fell to 0-2, 5-14.
