Greyhounds end Demons season; Panthers outscore Eagles; Panthers split with Griffin Mon Night

The Demons of Warner Robins got down 10 in the third, they were able to tie the game at 51 with about 6 minutes left in the game. Unfortunately for the Demons, their shooting got cold while Jones Co got hot & put the Demons away to win 66-61 to qualify for the State Playoffs while the Demons saw their 2022-2023 season come to an end at the Demon Den.

The game started off with tons of offense as the Demons led 23-17 down the stretch in the first & led 23-21 after one & then the Demons’ shooting got cold… real cold & for a lengthy amount of time as well. Warner Robins went the first five minutes of the second without scoring any points & Jones Co went on a 12-0 that started late in the 1st. Eventually the Demons made a basket & kept the Greyhounds within arms’ length as Jones Co led 35-31 at the half.

The Greyhounds were able to push the lead to ten midway through the third quarter & then the Demons were able to slowly but surely cut in to the deficit & after three the score was 50-46 Greyhounds. Warner Robins eventually tied the game at 51 with six minutes to go & then Jones Co got on a 9-0 run & the Demons could not cut it back down & Jones Co won over Warner Robins 66-61 to make the State Playoffs.

The Greyhounds improved to 16-10 overall & will take on the #1 seed Eagles Landing in the region semifinals on Thursday Night at 8:30pm. The Demons finished the season at 17-7 overall.

Elsewhere, The Eagle’s Nest was busy tonight with county rivals Perry & Northside going to battle late in the regular season. The Panthers won a high-scoring battle over the Eagles 79-78 to finish the regular season at 14-11 overall after winning their fifth consecutive game. The Eagles fell to 5-17 overall after dropping their 10th consecutive game. No final score was reported in the girls game as of this writing.

On Monday Night, Perry hosted Griffin in a region battle that was a make-up from Tue January 24th & the results were split. The Lady Panthers took it on the chin as they lost 60-36 to the Lady Bears & fell to 8-16 overall & finished regular season region play at 3-9. The Panthers won 64-61 over the Bears to improve to 13-11 overall & finish regular season play at 8-4.
