HoCo girls, boys beat Northside; Veterans sweeps Coffee

Houston County’s girls continue to roll. The latest victim was Northside. The Lady Bears scored six goals in the first half and four in the second to beat the Lady Eagles 10-0. It was the second time they had done so – the first back on Feb. 8.

The win gave the girls 11 wins without a loss. They are also 5-0 in Region 1-AAAAAA. Only one team to date has been able to keep up. That was Starr’s Mill back on Feb. 11. The Lady Panthers (8-2-3) played the Lady Bears to a 1-1 tie.

It was the only goal Houston County has given up en route to outscoring its opponents 89-1 (seven times it has scored 10 goals in a match).

The Bears also earned the win over the Eagles, 3-0. It was also the second time this year the beat them. The first was also back on Feb. 8, 9-0.

Houston County’s boys improved to 5-5-2 with the win, 2-2-1 in the region, while Northside fell to 3-9-0, 0-5-0.

Veterans was also in action at Coffee in a Region 1-AAAAA matchup. The Lady Warhawks won their game 3-2 – their seventh-straight win. The boys won 2-0.

Veterans’ girls improved to 9-3-1, 6-1-0 while the upped their record to 11-2-0, 7-0-0.
