HoCo, Vets split results for second time; Perry teams roll

Another game. Another shutout.

Such is the terror that is Houston County’s girl’s soccer team in 2021. Friday marked the eighth straight, a 5-0 win at home over Veterans. It marked the 12th shutout in the 13 games the girls have played – the other one being a 1-all tie against Starr’s Mill. It was also the second time Houston County had blanked Veterans – now 11-4-1. The first time was a 10-0 win on Feb. 6.

On the boys’ side, the tables were turned. The Warhawks beat the Bears for the second time. Feb. 6, Veterans won 6-3. Friday they edged out a 3-1 win. It was Houston County’s fifth out of its last six games. It fell to 5-7-2. Veterans, with its eighth win in its last nine games – the one was a 1-1 tie against Peach County – improved to 13-2-1.

Perry was also in action at home against Rutland in a Region 4-AAAA matchup. The Lady Panthers won 6-0. The boys won 8-0. The girls improved to 8-0 in the division, 12-2-2 overall. The boys improved to 6-1-0, 9-3-3.

Rutland fell to 3-2, 3-5 and 0-7, 0-9, respectively.
