Three area number one seeds move to the sweet sixteen round of the GHSA Girls basketball playoffs with home games hosted today at 6 PM.
The Warner Robins Demonettes will take to the hardwood on Chip Malone Court at Weatherspoon Gym to face Harris County.
The Demonettes come in with a 25-3 record overall & have won their last nine games. Warner Robins is the #1 seed out of region 2-AAAAA & they are currently ranked #3 in AAAAA. The Demonettes defeated Statesboro Tuesday 50-42 in the 1st Round.
The Harris Co Lady Tigers are the 2 seed out of region 3-AAAAA & are ranked #20 in AAAAA with a 19-9 overall record. Harris Co defeated Chamblee Tuesday Night 51-33 in the 1st Round.
Across town, the Veterans Warhawks play host to Lovejoy.
The Lady Warhawks currently sit at 24-4 overall & have won their last five games & are currently ranked #4 in AAAAAA. Veterans is the 1 seed from region 1-AAAAAA & they defeated Glynn Academy 62-27 in the 1st Round. The Lady Wildcats currently sit at 23-5 overall & are ranked #2 in AAAAAA; they are the 3 seed from region 3-AAAAAA. Lovejoy defeated Riverwood 62-20 in the 1st Round. This is a heavyweight matchup as both teams are ranked inside the top 4.
The Mary Persons Lady dogs take the court in Forsyth to host Liberty County.
The Lady Bulldogs currently sit at 24-4 overall & are the 1 seed out of region 2-AAA & are ranked #10 in AAA. Mary Persons comes in on a 4-game win streak & they defeated Thomasville 55-24 in the 1st Round. The Lady Panthers of Liberty Co come in with a 19-8 overall record & are the 2 seed from region 3-AAA. Liberty Co is ranked #15 in AAA & they defeated Hephzibah 64-48 in the 1st Round.
