The score did not completely reflect the story. “Mostly” it did, but not completely.
For starters, Warner Robins actually led Northside 2-1 after one. It was unable to add to that add in the second, however, it also held the Lady Eagles off the board.
So, not completely. But “mostly”. Mostly, because after that inning it was all Northside. It put five runs on the board in the third, one up in the fourth and exploded for 13 in the fifth to put the contest away.
In all it tallied 17 hits to the Demonettes’ five.
Kylee Ussery had three of those in four trips to the plate. With a double and a homerun, she also drove in six and scored once.
Madelyn Lee had two hits in three at bats. She had a triple and a homerun – she also walked twice – brought in four and scored three times.
Other contributors included Sierra Fransioli, 2-4 with a walk and two RBIs, Audra Carroll, 2-3 with a walk, two driven in and two scored and Amya Smith, who was 3-3 and scored three times.
Warner Robins’ hits were scattered among the first five hitters.
Samantha VovWaldner worked two innings for the Lady Eagles. She gave up four of the hits, the runs and struck out three. Ussery worked the final three innings. She struck out four and walked one.
Northside improved to 8-7 with the win while the Demonettes, who lost 21-6 to the Lady Eagles the first time the two met in early August, fell to 2-12.
