Both HoCo teams took losses to Lee Co earlier tonight at the Bears Den. The girls game started off real slow for both teams as it took roughly three minutes for either team to make a basket which HoCo did to lead 2-0 early but the Lady Trojans got on a 9-0 run to lead 9-2 after one.
HoCo ran the 7 pt deficit down by getting on a 9-2 run of their own to tie the game at 11 & then Lee Co pulled away again & the Lady Bears cut in to the deficit again & by the end of the first half; it was 19-16 Lee Co. The second half came around & the Lady Trojans slowly but surely pulled away & HoCo started turning the ball over several times partly due in part of Lee Co’s tough defense.
The score read 36-16 Lee Co after three & by the end of the game; the final score was 53-35 Lady Trojans. Lee Co was led in scoring by Jamyria Maddox (22 pts) & Kennedy Snead (15 pts). HoCo was led in scoring by Jayla Holden (9 pts) & Mariah Bell (8 pts).

The boys game would be a tight contest from start to finish. An overall dandy of a basketball game that started with Lee Co going on a 9-0 run after HoCo scored the first two pts of the contest but HoCo ended the first quarter on a 4-0 run to run the deficit down to three; 9-6 in favor of the visitor. These two went back & forth & the first half ended with the scored tied at 21 all.
The second half would be more defensive with not many pts being scored. Both teams matched each other by scoring 11 a piece in the third to bring our score to 32 all after three & then the fourth quarter featured a low combined total of only 15 pts with Lee Co benefiting to a 40-37 lead with around three minutes to play. Unfortunately for the Bears, their shooting went cold at the absolute wrong time & Ousman Kromah eventually made the dagger lay in with seconds remaining to ultimately bring the final score to 42-37 Trojans.
The Trojans with their 4th consecutive win improve to 17-2 overall; 4-0 in region play while the Bears saw their 6-game win streak get snapped & fell to 10-8 overall; 3-2 in region play. Lee Co was led in scoring by Ousman Kromah (13 pts) & D.J. Taylor (9 pts) while HoCo was led in scoring by Malachi Jackson (14 pts) & Malik Gillespie (6 pts).
