Northside building a culture on toughness and discipline after their spring scrimmage

The Northside Eagles’ football team held their annual spring scrimmage at Northside Middle School yesterday evening to prep them for the summer and the 2024 season in August. Last season the Blue, White, and Orange had their struggles and some good moments. They came back to down Jones Co 33-21 and they downed Peach Co for the fourth consecutive season which was also the program’s 500th win in it’s history.

They blew an 18-pt lead to longtime county rival Warner Robins 39-35 and gave the game away to Crisp Co to fall 20-16 and they survived Tift Co after making a defensive stop on a potential GW 2 pt play in overtime to win 35-34 and they got blown out to county rival HoCo and Lee Co. They shut out a very depleted Veterans team and lost to TCC in a game that didn’t hold much value to the Yellowjackets as they won 31-16.

This season, Northside will play a tough schedule with region play being the highlight as they will face off against two state champions in Thomas Co Central and Coffee who both featured potent defenses, a Lee Co team with a lethal RB in Ousmane Kromah, and county rivals HoCo and Veterans who both have shown they can put up the points on offense and be respective on defense.

This season, the Eagles look to build a culture on toughness and discipline going into the season and it seems the team will be young but only time will tell on what kind of team Northside will have. To hear what head coach Ben Bailey had to say following the scrimmage, click the video down below.
