Panthers sweep Griffin; Demons down Dutchtown; Eagles swept by TCC

The Perry Panthers hosted the Griffin Bears in a region doubleheader on Friday that resulted in a Panthers sweep. The Bears struck first in the top half of the first of game one by plating one run but their lead would not last as Perry quickly answered by plating four runs in the bottom half of the first to lead 4-1 and would add four more in the second, two in the third, and three in the fourth to win game one 13-1 in five innings.

The Panthers held Griffin scoreless in the top half of the first in game two and would explode for seven runs in the bottom half of the first. Perry added two runs in the second, one in the third, and two in the fourth to take game two 12-0 in five innings to sweep the season series over the Bears.

The Panthers currently sit at 21-6 overall; 12-3 in region play while Griffin is currently 0-23 overall; 0-14 in region play. Perry hosts Howard tomorrow at 5:30pm to start their final three game region series.

Warner Robins returned to action yesterday afternoon after a 14 day break in a make-up region home game against Dutchtown that failed to complete on March 17th and the Demons defeated the Bulldogs 9-3. The score was 2-1 Dutchtown going into the bottom half of the fifth where Warner Robins plated three runs to take a 4-2 lead going into the top half of the sixth.

The Demons kept the Bulldogs from plating any runs in the top of the sixth and went to work offensively in the last of the sixth where Warner Robins plated five runs to lead 9-2 going into the top of the seventh where Dutchtown plated one run and could not get any closer as the Demons would finish off the game and win 9-3.

The Demons improved to 6-16 overall; 4-11 in region play while the Bulldogs fell to 5-18 overall; 3-11 in region play. Warner Robins is set to take on Jones Co on the road tomorrow at 5:55pm as they play four games this week (three against the Greyhounds). Dutchtown travels to play Eagle’s Landing tomorrow at 6pm.

Northside traveled to Thomasville, Georgia to take on TCC in a region doubleheader on Friday that resulted in a Yellow Jackets sweep. Thomas Co Central took game one 11-0 in six innings and took game two 11-1 also in six innings to improve to 16-12 overall and finish region play at 7-8 while the Eagles fell to 3-25 overall and finished region play at 0-15.

Northside is set to host Peach Co this Tuesday at 6:30pm while Thomas Co Central will host Lowndes on Tuesday at 5:45pm in their regular season finale.
