Veterans sweeps Perry; Northside splits with West Laurens

A 79-50 win over Perry at home Tuesday enabled Veterans’ boys to keep their undefeated year intact.

The now 8-0 Warhawks really had the game in hand by the half. They outscored the Panthers – now 1-4 – 21-11 in the first and 25-11 in the second. Perry won the third, 12-8, but the fourth saw Veterans back in the 20s – 25-16.

The Lady Warhawks also won, 39-28. They were led by Tamia Luckey, who finished with 21 points. They improved to 7-1 while Perry’s girls fell to 0-5.

Elsewhere, Northside split results while hosting West Laurens.

The Eagles won handily 72-38. They led 20-8 after one and 34-14 at the break. They went on to outscored the Raiders 17-15 in the third and 21-9 in the fourth.

They also improved to 4-1 while West Laurens fell to 1-6.

Northside’s girls did fare as well. They were edged 41-36. They dropped to 5-2 while the Lady Raiders improved to the same mark.
