Warner Robins splits with Veterans; Other Results

The Warner Robins Demonettes won a heavyweight match-up over county rival & former region rival Veterans 66-64 at the Weatherspoon Gymnasium on the campus of WRHS last night. Warner Robins held the lead for the first three quarters & took a 10 point lead going into the fourth. That is where the Lady Warhawks came alive & were able to chip away at the deficit & take a 3-point lead towards the end.

The Demonettes for most of the fourth could not buy a bucket & struggled from the free throw line but were able to execute down the stretch & take the lead back & hold on for the 66-64 victory. Warner Robins improved to 13-1 overall while the Lady Warhawks fell to 10-2 overall.

The boys game at the Weatherspoon Gymnasium would also be a close contest that would go in favor of the Warhawks who came away with the victory by a score of 59-58. Veterans improved to 9-3 overall while Warner Robins fell to 8-4 overall. Veterans & Warner Robins will meet again down at the Warhawks Nest on Saturday January 21st.

Elsewhere, HoCo traveled to play Telfair Co with the girls losing a close game 44-43 & the boys winning 56-46. Northside hosted Lee Co in a region contest last night that saw the boys fall 56-50 to the Trojans. No final score was reported in the girls game as of this writing. Perry split with Spalding at the Panther Pit as the girls won 66-38 & the boys fell 66-56 on the first Tuesday of 2023.
