Eagles pick up 500th win, Greyhounds & Warhawks find double digit wins; MP falls on the road

Northside had their home opener last night against Central Ga foe Peach Co that resulted in the Eagles’ fourth consecutive victory over the Trojans by a final score of 28-17 which is also Northside’s 500th win in program history. The Blue, White, and Orange trailed 7-0 early but would outscore the Black, Gold, and White 28-10 the rest of the way.

Northside QB Damien Dee had three passing TDs in the win last night. The Eagles improve to 2-0 on the season and will be the visitor in the War-Town Classic against Warner Robins next Friday while Peach Co falls to 0-2 on the season and will be off next week and will return to play on September 8th @ Jones Co.

Jones Co also had their home opener last night against the Dacula Falcons that resulted in a dominate Greyhounds victory 45-19. Hounds CB Roderick Freeman had 3 INTs (one for a touchdown and all in the first half) on the night while the speedster RB Zion Ragins had two touchdowns on the night… one rushing and one receiving. The Purple, Gold, and White improve to 1-1 on the season and will travel south to play Perry next Friday.

The Falcons fall to 0-2 on the season and will return home to play South Gwinnett next Friday.

The Veterans Warhawks played their first home game at Freedom Field last night against the Griffin Bears that resulted in a 35-0 Warhawks shutout victory. Veterans QB Jake Maxwell had 3 passing TDs in the contest. The Red, White, and Blue improve to 2-0 on the season and will be off next week and will return to action on September 8th at home against county rival Perry.

Griffin falls to 0-2 on the season still looking to score their first points of the season and will have their home opener next Friday against Whitewater.

Mary Persons traveled to play at Spalding and lost 28-20 to fall to 1-1 on the season and will play @ Trinity Christian next Friday while the Jaguars improve to 2-0 on the season and will host Fayette Co this Thursday.
