Perry hosted county rival Northside earlier tonight in a rematch of December 13th’s battle and the results tonight were a Lady Panthers victory and an Eagles victory. The girls’ game was a hotly contested battle throughout as Northside controlled the first half leading 16-11 after one and 31-24 at halftime and led by as much as 10 in half number one.
The second half would be a change in momentum as the host would cut the gap down and take the lead late in the third to lead 41-38 heading into the fourth. The Maroon, Gold, and White would push it’s lead to six before the Lady Eagles would get on a run to tie the game and retake the lead coming down the stretch in the contest.
Perry would not be denied as they would retake the lead and hold off the visitors to secure a 50-47 victory to wrap up their 2025 portion of the schedule. Kampbell Mitchell led the Lady Panthers in scoring with 15 points followed by Hayden Hattaway with 13 points and Cameryn McKenzie with 11 points while Taylor Johnson led Northside in scoring with 13 points
Perry improves to 6-7 on the season while the Lady Eagles fall to 7-3 on the season.
The boys game would not be be as close as Northside would lead 23-10 after one and 37-23 at halftime. The second half would be defensive as the Blue, Orange, and White were relatively flat in the third quarter but held a 45-37 lead going into the fourth quarter.
Perry had a three point field goal ring out of the rim to potentially cut the gap to five and the visitors were able to retake the momentum one more time to finish the drill and win 59-45. Jaydin Howell led the Eagles in scoring with 15 points followed by Mekei Spencer and Vontrez Quainton with 11 points a piece. Kam Thomas led the Panthers in scoring with 15 points.
Northside improves to 8-3 on the season while Perry falls to 3-7 on the season. Next up for the Eagles is a home battle against Northside-Columbus tomorrow afternoon and next up for the Panthers is a home battle against Central Ga foe Dooly Co on Friday to open the 2026 side of their schedule.
