The Mary Persons Bulldogs will host the Peach Co Trojans tonight at Dan Pitts Stadium which will likely decide who wins the region. The Bulldogs come in at 6-1 overall, 1-0 in region play and are coming off a 49-0 region opening shutout victory over rival Jackson.
The Black, Gold, and White are having their best season in five years as they have two signature victories over Trinity Christian and Prince Avenue Christian.
The visiting Trojans are led by first year head coach Marquis Westbrook and the season has been rather difficult as they started 0-4 for the first time since 1983.. (in ’86 they had to forfeit several games they won). Peach Co has won their last two games which came against Hardaway 47-6 and Carver (Atlanta) 36-18 so they are 2-4 overall and begin region play tonight.
This game has the makings of going all the way down to the wire as both teams are good and have hopes of making a deep Playoff run.
Peach Co leads the all-time series 12-7 and Mary Persons’ last win over the Trojans occurred in 2018 when they won 35-21 in Fort Valley.
