Panthers split results with Braves; Tuesday results

The Perry Lady Panthers took a walloping loss at the hands of the Baldwin Bravettes at the Panther pit earlier tonight 87-46. Baldwin dominated from the opening tip & led 25-12 after one, & 46-23 by the end of the first half. The same trend continued in the second half as Baldwin outscored Perry 18-13 in the third as Perry made some tough shots while under fire from the elite Baldwin defense.

The score read 64-36 Baldwin after three as the Bravettes would go on to outscore the Lady Panthers 23-9 in the fourth to win the game 87-46. Baldwin improved to 16-7 overall; 10-1 in region play while Perry fell to 8-14 overall; 3-7 in region play.

The Bravettes had four in double figures tonight that included:
Madison Ruff 22 pts
Janaye Walker 17 pts
Kassidy Neal 16 pts
Jasmine Williams 11 pts.

Anna Dean led the Lady Panthers in scoring with 11 pts followed by Malonni Sheffield & Kennedi Miller with 10 pts each.

The Boys game would be a complete 180 as this game was a low scoring defensive contest that went in the Panthers favor as they defeated Baldwin 44-38 at the Panther Pit. Perry led from the opening tip & never led by more than 8 pts throughout the night. The Panthers led 10-6 after one & by the end of the first half; they led 20-13. Baldwin for almost the whole night trailed Perry by a deficit between 4-8 pts & could not get the gap closer than 4 pts until about midway through the fourth quarter.

Perry led 32-26 after three & around the midway point of the fourth quarter; Baldwin hit a big-time three to makes the score 34-33 Perry & after that happened, the Panthers put the game away by going on a 6-0 run & kept Baldwin at bay the rest of the game to win 44-38. Perry did not make one three pointer in tonight’s victory.

The Panthers improved to 11-11 overall; 6-4 in region play while the Braves fell to 12-10 overall; 7-4 in region play. Perry was led in scoring by Colby Dixon with 10 pts while Baldwin was led in scoring by Tremarious Lawrence with 14 pts & Jacobi Nixon with 11 pts.

HoCo, Perry, & Veterans were in action on Tuesday Night as all were on the road. HoCo traveled to Leesburg to play Lee Co which resulted in a Trojans sweep. The Lady Bears fell 62-22 while the Bears fell 44-38 at the hands of Lee Co.

Perry traveled to Dexter on Tuesday Night to play West Laurens which resulted in split results. The Lady Panthers dropped a close game to the Lady Raiders 47-46 while the Panthers defeated the Raiders 61-50. Veterans traveled roughly 80 miles south to Tifton to play Tift Co which resulted in a Blue Devils sweep. The Lady Warhawks lost to the Lady Blue Devils 53-43 which is also their first region loss while the Warhawks lost to the Blue Devils 66-55.
