WRHS squads sweep 2 region opponents (VHS being one of those)

It was a good weekend for Warner Robins’ girls and boys. Both swept Region 1-AAAAA opponents.

The girls edged out Wayne County 31-27 on the road Friday. They returned home to host Veterans and beat it 65-40.

The grand total put the Demonettes at 3-0 in the division, 14-5 overall. (More on Veterans in a second.)

The Demons on the other hand, beat Wayne County 66-50 and then the Warhawks 80-60. They improved to 3-0, 11-5.

Veterans’ girls also lost to Ware County at home Friday, 50-36. They fell to 1-2, 7-12. Ware County improved to 2-1, 10-5.

The Warhawks won their Friday matchup, 87-57, to stand – with the loss to Warner Robins added in – at 2-1, 11-8. The Gators fell to 0-3, 3-12.

Perry also had a twin-billing of sorts. It hosted Rutland on Friday and traveled to Peach County Saturday.

The girls dominated the Lady Canes, 57-8, but came up short to the Lady Trojans, 58-36. They are currently 4-3 in Region 4-AAAA, 5-9 overall. Rutland dropped to 0-6, 1-12, while Peach County, a non-region opponent, improved to 11-4.

The Panthers lost both games. It fell by a point to Rutland, 71-70, and was then beaten out by Peach County, 66-60. They dropped to 5-2 in the division, 7-7 overall. Rutland improved to 3-3, 7-10 while the Trojans improved to 8-7.
