A first for “boys” volleyball in Middle Georgia was marked recently. That, said Warner Robins volleyball Coach Marlene Rogers said, was when the Demons volleyball team, in its first season, hosted Newton County High School and the local boys volleyball travel team, PSVA, in a tri-match.
Both Warner Robins and Newton County, Rogers said, fielded two full teams while PSVA combined two teams into one to allow for a round-robin event.
PSVA was the big winner, topping both Warner Robins and Newton County, but, Rogers said, “The event displayed some exciting volleyball and was a testimony to the growth of boys volleyball in Middle Georgia.”
The Demons went on to compete in the boys volleyball state tournament in Atlanta May 7, while PSVA attended the Southern Region volleyball tournament April 30.
