Northside hung with Colquitt County for a quarter. Then, it could hang no more.
The Packers, with the game tied at 7 after one, put together a 31-point second quarter. They added a touchdown in the third and fourth for a 52-7 win.
Colquitt County quarterback Neko Fann threw for four touchdowns and 302 yards. His first was to Ny Carr for 90 yards. The Eagles answered with their only score, a 10-play, 76-yard drive that was finished off with a Damien Dee 19-yard pass to Centavious Lowe. Ashton Paredes made the point after to knot it at 7 with 2:23 left in the quarter.
Charlie Pace with a 10-yard run gave Colquitt the lead for good. It came with 1:10 left in the quarter. Fann hit Carr for six yards for a score. Brett Fitzgerald, who made all of the points after, hit a 25-yard field goal and Pace ran it in from the 18. Finally, Fann hit Pace for a 36-yard score to make it 38-7, which is where it stood at the half.
Fann connected with Ontavious Carolina for 65 yards with 11:11 left in the third and finally, I’marius Bussie, with a running clock, found Landon Griffin for 83 yards. Colquitt out-gained Northside 519-212 in all.
The loss dropped the Eagles to 4-2 while the Packers improved to 5-1.
