Warner Robins hosted longtime county rival Northside earlier this afternoon and the result was the Demonettes overpowering Northside by winning 63-31 and the Eagles beating Warner Robins 63-60 in an instant classic. The girls’ game would be contested in the first half with the host leading 11-4 after one and 27-15 at halftime.
The Cardinal, Black, and White would run away from Northside in the second half by pushing it’s lead to 50-25 at the end of the third quarter. Warner Robins would go on to win 63-31 and Kennedy Bradshaw of the Demonettes would surpass 1,000 career points scored in the third quarter.
Speaking of Kennedy Bradshaw.. she led the host in scoring with 15 points followed by Janelle Turner with 11 points while the Lady Eagles were led in scoring by Zayla Turner with 11 points and Northside falls to 13-7 on the season.
The boys’ game would be tight from start to finish as the Demons jumped out to an early 12-4 lead which would be the largest lead either team would have all game but that gap would get erased by the visitors and the game went into the second quarter tied at 16. Northside would take a slim 35-31 lead going into the locker room at halftime.
The Blue, White, and Orange were able to push their lead to seven in the third quarter but the host would not led them pull away and the Eagles led 47-42 at the end of the third. Late in the game.. trailing 59-58, Demons’ player Kam Schmitz would get a steal and make the go-ahead two-point basket to give the Cardinal, Black, and White a 60-59 lead.
Northside would not back down as they would go on a 4-0 run to lead 63-60 and Elijah Patmon went to the Dozier Law Firm free throw line with a chance to ice the game but he missed both to give the Demons a chance at overtime. The host had one more chance with 3.3 seconds remaining and Kam Schmitz’ game-tying National Exterminating three point field goal would fall short to give Northside the 63-60 victory.
Elijah Patmon led the Eagles in scoring with 17 points followed by Jaydin Howell with 12 points (nine of which coming from the Dozier Law Firm free throw line where he was 100% from). Warner Robins was led in scoring by Kam Schmitz with 15 points followed by Tristan Warren with 12 points, and Gavyn Williams with 11 points.
What hurt the Demons was their abysmal shooting from the Dozier Law Firm free throw line as they went 13 of 29 from the charity stripe. The Blue, White, and Orange improve to 12-8 on the season while the Cardinal, Black, and White fall to 11-11 on the season. The Eagles snapped it’s nine-game losing skid to Warner Robins and ended the Demons’ current seven-game win streak.
