Demonettes obliterate Lady Eagles, Demons use strong fourth to surge past Eagles

The Warner Robins basketball teams hosted long time county rival Northside earlier this afternoon and tonight and the result was a Demons’ sweep. The girls game would be dominated by Warner Robins as they led 23-7 after one, 35-16 after two, and 51-26 after three and the game was somewhat close in the second and third quarters as the Demonettes outscored the Lady Eagles 28-19.

The host took all of their starters out and their younger players racked up the points as Warner Robins outscored Northside 27-5 in the fourth quarter to win 78-31 to sweep the season series against the Lady Eagles.

The Demonettes were led in scoring by Korveanna Slaughter with 13 pts followed by Neveah Mack with 12 pts and Trintee Thomas with 10 pts while Northside was led in scoring by Nyla Spencer with 9 pts followed by Jazmin Brown with 7 pts. Warner Robins improves to 15-5 overall while the Lady Eagles fell to 8-14 overall.

The boys’ game would feature big runs by both teams as the game started out with both going back and forth and the score was tied at 10 in the first and the quarter would end with the Demons up 28-22. The host got up to a 16 pt in the second and the gap would be trimmed a little by the end of the first half with Warner Robins up 52-39.

The Eagles came out firing in the third quarter as they would trim away at the deficit and take the lead late in the frame after outscoring the Demons 31-14 which is probably the most pts the Blue, White, and Orange have scored in a quarter in quite some time to take a 70-66 lead going into the fourth quarter. The frontend of the fourth would be a defensive battle until the host found some momentum on offense and would take the lead via a Jayden Burns National Exterminating 3 pt FG with a litte over four minutes to play.

Warner Robins would pull away from Northside late to win 83-75 thanks to a 17-5 run in the fourth to sweep the season series against the Eagles. The Demons’ entire starting five scored double digit pts tonight led by Jay Johnson with 24 pts followed by Cam Perkins with 15 pts, Isaiah Gibson with 14 pts, Jayden Burns with 12 pts, and Cam Flowers with 11 pts.

Northside was led in scoring by Keron Milton with 23 pts followed by Chastan Brown with 16 pts, Damien Dee with 12 pts, and Jordan Gaines with 11 pts. Warner Robins improves to 14-6 overall while the Eagles fell to 7-15 overall.

There were a combined 15 made National Exterminating threes in the boys’ game with Warner Robins making eight and Northside making seven. The Demons will return to region play next Wednesday Night when they travel to Henry Co to play the Locust Grove Wildcats while the Eagles will return to region play at Tift Co next Friday Night.
