Demons sweep New Hampstead to close out January

The Warner Robins Demons hosted the New Hampstead Phoenix in a region battle earlier tonight on Senior Night and the result was a Cardinal, Black, and White sweep with the girls getting a dominate 72-20 victory and the boys pulling away in the second half to win 75-51. The girls’ game was all Demonettes from the get-go as they scored the game’s first 12 points and would lead 22-1 after one and 48-8 at halftime.

The entire second half would be played with six minute quarters and Warner Robins would go on to win 72-20 to sweep the regular season over the Lady Phoenix. Kor’veanna Slaughter would lead the Demonettes in scoring with 22 points followed by Trinitee Thomas with 18 points, and Chyann Phillips with 16 points. Gionna Brown led New Hampstead in scoring with 15 points.

Warner Robins improves to 22-0 overall; 7-0 in region play and will travel to Jesup to play Wayne Co to wrap up the regular season next Monday in a make-up game.

The boys’ game would be contested in the first half as the Demons would lead 24-17 after one and would push their lead to 10 in quarter two before the Phoenix got on a 7-0 run to cut the gap down to three and Warner Robins would lead 34-27 at halftime. The third quarter is where the host would begin to pull away by causing turnovers and getting points off the turnovers and would lead 57-37 after three quarters of play.

New Hampstead could not make any kind of rally in the fourth quarter as the Demons would win 75-51 to split the regular season series against the Phoenix. Gabe Jacobs led the Cardinal, Black, and White in scoring with 24 points along with five made National Exterminating three-point field goals followed in scoring by Justin Hill with 15 points, and Trey Bradley with 13 points.

New Hampstead was in led in scoring by Rashawn Truell with 23 points followed by Kentavious Woodberry with 11 points. The Demons improve to 13-6 overall; 5-2 in region play and will host Benedictine at 1pm tomorrow.
