Eagles fall at home to North Cobb after surrendering 35 first half points

The Northside Eagles hosted the North Cobb Warriors at McConnell-Talbert Stadium which resulted in a Warriors victory 35-17. The visitors got the scoring started when their big athletic RB #2 David Eziomume broke four tackles somehow to scamper for a 68 yd rush TD and the PAT made it 7-0 North Cobb in the first.

The Warriors doubled the lead to 14-0 which was the score after one quarter of play. The Eagles opened the second quarter by making a 22 yd FG to get on the scoreboard and the score read 14-3 North Cobb with 11:57 remaining in the first half. The visitors exploded with 21 more pts with seven of those as a result of a Northside fumble but not a scoop ‘n’ score to lead 35-3 late in the first half.

The Blue, White, and Orange orchestrated a 90 yd drive that was capped off by a Da’veon Latimore 1 yd rush TD and the PAT made it 35-10 North Cobb which would be the score at halftime. The Eagles scored another TD in the third with a Keron Milton 8 yd TD reception and the PAT made it 35-17 in favor of the Warriors.

Both teams had the ball and were able to drive down field but big penalties negated almost all of them as nobody would score for the rest of the night and North Cobb comes away with the victory 35-17 for their first victory over the Eagles in four tries.

North Cobb improves to 2-2 on the season and will travel to play the Milton Eagles next Friday while Northside falls to 2-2 on the season and will travel to Cordele to play the Crisp Co Cougars next Friday.
