Demons rally from 20 down to knockoff Dutchtown on the road; other results

The Warner Robins Demons traveled to play the Dutchtown Bulldogs to open region play in region 2-AAAAA and this game did not disappoint. The host jumped on the Demons by scoring the game’s first 20 points but the visitors got on the board with a touchdown late in the first half and the Bulldogs led 20-7 at the half.

Dutchtown blocked a punt to get a safety to lead 22-7, with an opportunity to go up big…. Miles Joiner got a big pick in the end zone for Warner Robins to kill the Dutchtown drive. That INT flipped the game completely as the Cardinal, Black, and White made a massive rally with three TD drives including a successful 2-pt try to win the game 29-22… ending the game on a 22-0 run.

The Demons improve to 2-2 on the season and open region play at 1-0 and will return home for their final non-region game against county rival HoCo next Friday while Dutchtown falls to 1-4 overall; 0-1 in region play and will have a BYE next week and will return to play on Sept 29th at home against Union Grove.

Elsewhere; the Veterans Warhawks hosted the Lakeside (Evans) Panthers and took home a 38-15 win. The Warhawks scored the game’s first 10 pts before the visitors scored a rush TD and the PAT made it 10-7 Veterans in the second. The Red, White, and Blue would pull away from the Panthers and end the game on a 28-8 run to win 38-15. Chandler Thomas had two TD receptions while Preston Bird had one rush TD on the night.

Veterans improves to 3-1 on the season and will host the Northgate Vikings next Friday while Lakeside (Evans) falls to 2-2 on the season and will have a BYE next week before opening region play at rival Evans on Sept 29th.

The Perry Panthers made a short trip out west to play the Peach Co Trojans and the visitors come away with a strong 42-21 victory. Perry improves to 3-1 on the season and will travel to Macon and play the Howard Huskies next Friday to open region play while the Trojans fall to 0-4 on the season and will host the Hardaway Golden Hawks next Friday.

The Jones Co Greyhounds traveled to Henry County to play the Locust Grove Wildcats Thursday Night to open region play and the visitors came away with the dominate 54-12 victory. The host scored a 50 yd TD reception to cut the gap down to 7-6 early but missed the PAT and afterwards…. the Purple, Gold, and White ended the game on a 47-6 run.

Jones Co improves to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in region play and will have a BYE next week and will return to action on Sept 29th at home against the Eagle’s Landing Golden Eagles. Locust Grove falls to 1-3 overall, 0-1 in region play and will play one more non-region game against the Arabia Mountain Rams next Friday.
