Greyhounds dominate ELCA on the road

The Jones Co Greyhounds made the trip to Henry Co to play the Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy Chargers in a region battle earlier tonight and the result was a dominate Greyhounds’ victory 42-14. The Purple, Gold, Black, and White got on the board 52 seconds into the contest when Devon Edmonds found Jaivon Solomon on a 44-yard touchdown strike and the PAT made the score 7-0 in favor of the visitors.

Jones Co found two more scores quickly and led 21-0 just over five minutes into the first quarter. The Chargers capped a 52-yard drive when Fenix Felton dove in for the two-yard rush touchdown and the PAT made the score 21-7 late in quarter one. Late in the first half, Devon Edmonds threw a 50-yard bomb to JR Clark who made an incredible diving catch for the touchdown and the PAT made the score 28-7 in favor of the Greyhounds and that would be your halftime score.

The visitors kept the momentum going in the second half by finding the endzone two more times with the last one via a Devon Edmonds four-yard touchdown pass to Ray Jones and the PAT made the score 42-7 in favor of the Purple, Gold, Black, and White. ELCA would add one more score in the fourth quarter and the final score would be 42-14 Jones Co.

JR Clark was the offensive player of the game for the Greyhounds with his highlight reel touchdown grab in the second quarter and the visitors’ defense was led tonight by Corey Williams and Jacob Skinner. Jones Co improves to 6-2 overall; 5-2 in region play and will host Eagle’s Landing on Senior Night in two weeks.
