The Houston Co Bears are set to host county and region rival Veterans later tonight in the Battle for Freedom Field. This will be the eighth time these two teams have squared off at Freedom Field as both have called the stadium home since 2016 and this is the 10th all-time meeting between these two county foes.
The Warhawks are coming into this matchup already eliminated from Playoff contention with an 0-4 region record and 3-6 overall as the Red, White, and Blue are very depleted due to multiple injuries as they are using their fifth string QB.
The host Bears come in at 7-2 overall; 2-2 in region play for the second consecutive season as they have struggled offensively the last two games by scoring nothing against Thomas Co Central and only putting up 26 pts against Tift Co who gave the Black, Silver, and White fits last week.
HoCo’s offense needs to regain that explosive prowess that it had during the first eight games of the season if they want a chance at going deep into the Playoffs and possibly making it to the Final to compete for a state title. Their defense has played well and if they can get their offense going again.. the Bears are a very dangerous team.
The Black, Silver, and White are heavy favorites going into this matchup but with all rivalry games… throw the records out the window. HoCo leads the series 7-2 all-time and here is the results of the previous nine matchups…
