HoCo shuts out Veterans on Senior Night

The HoCo Bears hosted county and region rival Veterans earlier tonight and the result was a 42-0 Bears shutout victory on Senior Night. The host got the scoring started with 7:20 left in the first when AJ Hill scored on a 3 yd rush and the PAT made it 7-0 HoCo. The Black, Silver, and White scored again when Hill found Ricky Johnson for a 48 yd TD reception and the PAT made it 14-0 Bears with 9:08 left in the second.

The Bears struck again with 1:11 left in the first half when Hill found Ty Waters for a 26 yd TD reception and the PAT made it 21-0 HoCo and that would be the score at halftime.

Hill threw an interception on the Bear’s first offensive drive of the second half but their defense held Veterans down and got the ball back and with 6:14 remaining in the third…. Amir Thomas scored on a 40 yd run and the PAT made it 28-0 in favor of the host.

The Black, Silver, and White struck again with 50 seconds left in the third when backup QB Christian Stokes found paydirt from 5 yds out and the PAT made it 35-0 HoCo as the fourth quarter would be played with a running clock.

The Bears scored one last time when Amir Thomas ran in from over 30 yds out and the PAT made it 42-0 HoCo with 3:29 left in the game and that would be the final score. The Black, Silver, and White finish the regular season at 8-2 overall; 3-2 in region play for the second consecutive season and this year will be the 3 seed out of 1-AAAAAA and will travel to take on the North Atlanta Warriors next Friday in the first round of the state playoffs.

The Warhawks wrap up 2023 at 3-7 overall; 0-5 in region play.
