HoCo set to host TCC tomorrow afternoon in mammoth region battle

The #6 ranked HoCo Bears are getting prepped to host the #2 ranked Thomas Co Central Yellowjackets in a colossal region contest tomorrow afternoon at 2pm. The Bears must win this region game if they want to have a chance at hosting a first round playoff game or potentially win the region overall.

Both teams are coming off a BYE week as HoCo is 6-1 overall; 1-1 in region play with a loss to Lee Co 44-35 and a win over county rival Northside 42-14 while Thomas Co Central comes in at 7-0 overall; 2-0 in region play with shutout victories over Veterans 52-0 and Tift Co 56-0. The Yellowjackets are loaded on defense as they have surrendered 47 pts total or 6.71 pts allowed per game.

Thomas Co Central’s offense is solid as well but they have played nobody close to what HoCo brings to the table. The matchup will most definitely be the Bears’ potent offense vs the Yellowjackets’ stacked defense but it will be intriguing of what goes down when the roles are reversed.

If Thomas Co Central wins… their Week 11 contest vs Lee Co at home will likely be the region championship game. If the Black, Silver, and White wins… then the region will be a three horse race between HoCo, Lee Co, & Thomas Co Central that could potentially end in a 3-way tie with no way to break the tie with head-to-head and would likely go to a pts cap to break it.

The Yellowjackets are averaging 47.9 pts per game on offense while HoCo is averaging 46.1 pts per game on offense while on defense.. the Bears are allowing 19.7 ppg.

This game has all the makings of going all the way down to the wire and possibly go into overtime and this game is so pivotal for both teams in the region fight.
