The Veterans Warhawks are set to host the Tift Co Blue Devils tonight in a critical region game. The Warhawks look to get in the region win column and also snap a 3-game losing skid. The Red, White, and Blue are 3-4 overall; 0-2 in region play with region losses to Thomas Co Central 52-0, and Lee Co 55-16.
Veterans is without it’s starting QB Jake Maxwell who is out for the rest of the season with an injury but they do have star player Preston Bird in their arsenal.
Tift Co is 1-6 overall; 0-2 in region play just like this time last season as their only victory thus far came against Gadsden Co, FL 17-0. The Blue Devils came painfully close to winning a region game when they took Northside to overtime and lost 35-34 when they went for the game-winning two pt try but failed.
Two weeks ago… they got blasted by Thomas Co Central losing 56-0. Last season was the first time these two teams have ever played each other and the result was a 27-20 Warhawks road victory.
This game has the potential to go on they way down to the wire but only time will tell and both teams are coming off a BYE.
