Lady Bears enter the Playoffs with eyes on their first State Title

The HoCo Lady Bears Varsity Softball team enters the State Playoffs with one goal: win the AAAAAA State Title. The Lady Bears have a team that is fully capable of walking off into the sunset in Columbus but it will be anything but easy. The Black, Silver, and White is loaded with talent up and down the roster and they are capable of plating a ton of runs and holding teams down with their explosive pitching.

HoCo’s pitching was dominant in the regular season as they allowed only 46 runs in 29 games.. 1.59 rapg, allowing no more than 4 runs in a single game. The Lady Bears’ offense is as explosive as their defense as the Black, Silver, and White plated 269 runs… an average of 9.28 rpg meaning their run differential is +223 or +7.69 rpg.

In region play, HoCo went a perfect 15-0 and they plated 164 runs.. an avg of 10.93 rpg and allowed 17 runs… an avg of 1.13 rapg. The run differential was +147 or +9.8 rpg. The Lady Bears recorded 10 shutouts throughout 29 games and their overall record is 26-3.

HoCo’s Playoff run begins on Wednesday afternoon at 1pm when they take on the Riverwood Raiders in the Super Regional and the other two teams in their quadrant are Lovejoy and Effingham Co. If the Lady Bears lose, they will play again at 5pm and if they win, they will play at 7pm.

Everybody who plays on the HoCo team can plate runs and play great defense but the two players to keep your eye on the offensive side is power hitters Jacy Harrelson and Kinley Snider and on defense… their two star pitchers Tess Rollins and Ally Fleming. If the Black, Silver, and White get deep into the Playoffs… it will get pretty difficult as you typically start facing off against better teams.
