Lady Dogs and Greyhounds fall, Lady Warhawks, Lady Hounds, Demons advance to the Elite Eight

Five basketball teams played in the Sweet Sixteen this past Friday and Saturday with two seeing their seasons come to an end and three advancing to the Elite Eight. The Mary Persons Lady Bulldogs hosted the Monroe Lady Tornadoes and fell 67-53 to finish their 23-24 season at 23-6 overall and the Jones Co Greyhounds traveled to play the Tucker Tigers and got blown out 72-40 to finish their season at 19-10 overall.

The Veterans Lady Warhawks traveled to the Georgia Coast to play the Brunswick Lady Pirates and the visitors walloped the host by winning 76-42 to advance to the Elite Eight where they will travel to take on the Hughes Lady Panthers tomorrow at 6pm. The Red, White, and Blue are currently 23-6 overall.

The Jones Co Lady Greyhounds improved to 23-6 overall with their Sweet Sixteen road win over Ware Co 34-32 in a low-scoring contest and the Purple, Gold, and White will take on Midtown at home tomorrow at 6pm. The Warner Robins Demons took on the Decatur Bulldogs on the road and won 76-69 to return to the Elite Eight and they will take on the Winder-Barrow Bulldogs on the road on Wednesday at 7pm. The Demons are currently 22-7 overall.
