Warhawks stunned at home by Tift Co

The Veterans Warhawks hosted the Tift Co Blue Devils in a pivotal region contest and the result was a shocking Tift Co victory 14-6. The Warhawks came into this game battered with injuries as they started their fourth QB earlier tonight. The Blue Devils got the scoring started with 1:15 remaining in the first half with a pick six and the PAT made it 7-0 which was the score at the half.

Tift Co scored another TD with 8:32 remaining in the third and the PAT made it 14-0. The Red, White, Blue got on the scoreboard with 11:11 remaining in the game via a Mychal Stillwell 15 yd TD reception and the PAT was blocked and the score read 14-6 in favor of the visitors.

With 30 seconds remaining in the game, Veterans’ QB Kendall Davis got sandwiched in between two Tift Co defenders and was knocked unconscious and had to be stretchered off the field thus bringing in #29 sophomore Caden Smith to finish the game at QB. The Warhawks were unable to score again and Tift Co came away with the 14-6 region upset victory.

The Blue Devils improve to 2-6 overall; 1-2 in region play and will host HoCo next Friday while Veterans loses their fourth straight game and falls to 3-5 overall 0-3 in region play and will host county rival Northside next Friday on senior night.
