The 2023 Softball season got underway last week to start the GHSA sports season for 2023-2024. HoCo opened their season with two victories against Jones Co 16-4 and Lowndes 6-3 to start off at 2-0 overall. Speaking of Jones Co, the Lady Greyhounds are 0-3 to start 2023 by losing 5-2 to Pike Co, 16-4 to HoCo, and 6-0 to Dodge Co.
Mary Persons opened their season with a 5-0 road loss to ACE Charter this past Wednesday and currently sit at 0-1 overall. The Northside Lady Eagles opened play at home against county rival Warner Robins and won 10-1 and would later lose to county rival Perry 11-3 to bring Northside’s record to 1-1 overall. The Lady Panthers are currently 1-0 overall with the aforementioned 11-3 victory over the Blue, White, and Orange.
The Veterans Lady Warhawks opened their season last Thursday with a 9-1 road win over Crisp Co and followed that performance with a high scoring lopsided home loss to ACE Charter 22-12 on Friday August 11th and currently sit at 1-1 overall. Warner Robins opened 2023 on Friday August 4th and picked up a 14-13 home win over Baldwin and then lost 10-1 on the road to Northside and lost 16-1 at home to Jasper Co and currently sit at 1-2 overall.
