Warhawks lose two of three against Tift Co; Eagles shutout by TCC; Panthers blast Griffin

The Veterans Warhawks lost two out of three against Tift Co earlier this week starting with a painful 6-5 road loss in ten innings. The Warhawks led 5-4 going into the bottom half of the seventh and that is where the Blue Devils tied the game via an error with no outs. Eventually; Tift Co hit a walk-off rbi single to win 6-5 in ten.

Veterans hosted the Blue Devils in a doubleheader on Wednesday that resulted in a Tift Co shutout victory in game one 6-0 and a Warhawks shutout victory in game two 4-0. The Blue Devils are currently 22-6 overall and finished 10-5 in region play while Veterans is currently 12-14 overall and finished 4-11 in region play. Tift Co will host Irwin Co next Wednesday at 5:30pm in their regular season finale while the Warhawks will travel to play Sandy Creek next Tuesday at 5:55pm.

Northside hosted Thomas Co Central this past Tuesday and got shutout 9-0. The Eagles are currently 3-23 overall; 0-13 in region play while the Yellow Jackets are currently 14-12 overall; 5-8 in region play. These two will square off in Southwest Georgia in a doubleheader later today at 5 and 7pm.

Perry got back into the winner’s column on Wednesday by shutting out the Griffin Bears on the road 15-0 in three innings. The Panthers racked up 10 runs in the top half of the first followed by three in the second and two in the third. Perry improved to 19-6 overall; 10-3 in region play while Griffin fell to 0-21 overall; 0-12 in region play.

These two teams will meet at the Panther Diamond in a doubleheader later today.
