2025 HoCo Baseball Preview: Bears to compete for the 5A state title

The HoCo Bears baseball team is preparing for the 2025 season with three goals: win county, win region, and win state. The Black, Silver, and White are poised to make another deep run in the Playoffs with the talent they have on the roster as they return a good chunk of their pitching and hitting.

Last season, the Bears faced a ton of adversity but one word to describe the 2024 HoCo baseball team is resilient. The Bears made it to the Final Four until getting swept at Pope to finish the season at 29-9 overall. This season’s team is ranked just outside the top 50 in the preseason national rankings and are ranked #7 in Georgia and #2 in class AAAAA behind Pope.

The Black, Silver, and White are playing another strong schedule to prepare them for the postseason and it will start with a round-robin mini tournament at home against North Oconee on Friday Night February 14th followed by Alexander and Mary Persons the following day. HoCo will play their region opponents in this order: Northside, Veterans, Thomas Co Central, Coffee, and wrap-up against Lee Co.

The Bears will return to Hoover, AL at the end of February and will return to the LakePoint tournament up in Cartersville in early April.
