The HoCo Lady Bears hosted county and region rival Northside earlier this evening in a doubleheader and the Lady Bears won 16-1 and 15-0. Game One was highlighted by Hayley McElroy’s grand slam and Olivia Buffone’s three run jack as both accounted for four rbis.
Game Two saw HoCo run through most of their lineup as seven of their players recorded an rbi led by Hayley McElroy and Maddie Grace Wall with three a piece and Wall hit a two run jack to give the Black, Silver, and White a 15-0 shutout victory in three innings. HoCo SP Kamille Evans recorded two rbis and pitched two innings surrendering no runs on one hit, walking none, and striking out three in the process.
Northside committed two errors in the first game and seven in the second game and had no rbis in either game. HoCo improves to 16-9 overall; 9-4 in region play and will travel to Thomasville tomorrow for a critical region doubleheader against Thomas Co Central in which the Lady Bears need to take both. The Lady Eagles finish 2024 at 4-26 overall; 0-15 in region play.
