Lady Panthers sweep North Springs to advance to the Sweet Sixteen

The Perry Lady Panthers began their Playoff run at home against the North Springs Lady Spartans in a doubleheader and the result was a Lady Panthers’ sweep 10-2 in five in Game One and 17-2 in three in Game Two to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. Game One for the Maroon, Gold, and White was highlighted by Cason Gentry’s two-run jack and Kamryn Fielder’s solo jack.

Gentry led the Lady Panthers in rbis with three in Game one followed by Rayanna Harrell with two. Perry SP Emma Rose Wood pitched a complete game and surrendered two earned runs on three hits, walking none, and striking out six in the process.

Game Two started with both teams plating a run in inning one before the designated visitor Lady Panthers kicked the doors open by plating 16 runs in the top half of the second. Kamryn Fielder hit another home run, this time a two-run jack while Anna Dean and Cason Gentry both led the way in rbis with three a piece in Game Two.

Cason Gentry combined for six rbis in the doubleheader while Anna Dean had four and Kamryn Fielder had three via two home runs. Perry SP Ansley Jordan pitched a complete game by surrendering two earned runs on three hits, walking none, and striking out two in the process. The Lady Panthers currently sit at 19-8 overall and will take on either Jones Co or Eastside in the Sweet Sixteen next week.
