The Warner Robins Demons who are ranked #10 in AAAA are prepping to open their 2024 Playoff run against a tough opponent on the road on Friday Night. That opponent is the #1 ranked team in AAAA the Marist War Eagles out of the Atlanta area. The Cardinal, Black, and White finished the regular season at 7-3 overall; 3-2 in region play and are the 4-seed out of region 1-AAAA.
Warner Robins had an upset victory in September when they outscored HoCo to win 54-44 in the highest scored game in rivalry history. The Demons are averaging 33.8 ppg on offense and are allowing 22.6 ppg on defense for a score differential of +11.2 ppg. Their most recent game was against county rival Perry, a team they had not played in 59 years and won 27-24 on a GW field goal with about half a second remaining.
The Cardinal, Black, and White will travel to play Marist who is the region 5-AAAA champion by going 10-0 overall; 8-0 in region play. The War Eagles are averaging 45.9 ppg on offense and are allowing an average of only 5.5 ppg on defense for a whopping score differential of +40.4 ppg. Marist has qualified for the Playoffs for the 42nd consecutive year.
