Bulldogs sweep Adairsville to reach the Sweet Sixteen.

The Mary Persons Bulldogs opened their 2025 Playoff run against the Adairsville Tigers on the road and the result was a Black, Gold, and White sweep.. winning Game One 7-0 and winning Game Two 10-0 in six innings. Game One was a low-scoring battle with the visitors leading 1-0 through four innings but would pull away to win 7-0. Gavin Barr hit two jacks in Game One.. a solo jack in the top of the sixth and a three-run jack in the top of the seventh to have four rbis in the contest which led the team.

Game Two saw MP jump on the Tigers to lead 8-0 after three innings of play and the highlight would be a Brady Christman solo jack in the last of the third to give the designated host for Game Two a 7-0 lead. The game would be stopped due to rain in the fifth inning and would ultimately be postponed to today to finish off the game and the Bulldogs would do so to win Game Two 10-0 in six innings.

Cole Carr led the Black, Gold, and White in rbis with three in Game Two. Mary Persons’ pitchers.. SP Andrew Snow and reliever Shivan Patel combined to allow no runs on seven hits, walking two, and striking out six. Game One saw SP Cole Carr pitch for six innings and surrendered no runs on two hits, walking four, and striking out six while reliever Shivan Patel relief-pitched inning seven and surrendered no runs on one hit, walking none, and striking out none.

The Bulldogs improve to 17-14 on the season and will host region foe Upson-lee in the Sweet Sixteen next Thursday.
