Bears blast Coffee behind three home runs

The HoCo Bears hosted the Coffee Trojans earlier this evening and the result was another dominate Black, Silver, and White victory by a score of 11-1 in five innings. The host got the scoring started immediately in the last of the first when Kendall Jackson hit a first pitch lead-off solo jack to left to give the Bears a 1-0 lead.

HoCo later had the bases loaded with nobody out but consecutive pop-outs and a line-out ended the the first with three runners stranded. Vick Gann would get in on the action with a two-run jack to right field to drive in himself and Kendall Jackson to push the Black, Silver, and White’s lead to 3-0 in the last of the second.

The Bears plated two runs in the last of the third via a sac-bunt and a bases rounding walk to give the host a 5-0 lead and Isaiah Galason would come up to bat and would hit a grand slam to left to drive in himself, Noah Odom, Kendall Jackson, and Vick Gann to give HoCo a 9-0 lead going into the fourth inning.

Noah Odom hit an rbi single to drive in Ethan Kenney to make the score 10-0 Bears after four however, the Trojans were able to plate a run in the top of the fifth with two outs on the board to extend the game. The Black, Silver, and White would get that run back to end the game in the last of the fifth to win 11-1.

Isaiah Galason led the Bears in rbis with four followed by Vick Gann with three, and Kendall Jackson, Logan Elble, Raymond Byrd, and Noah Odom with one a piece. SP Will Allen had a strong outing on the bump as he pitched all five innings by surrendering one unearned run on one hit, walking one, and striking out nine in the process.

The Bears improve to 17-3 overall; 10-0 in region play and will travel to Douglas to take on Coffee in a critical region doubleheader on Friday.
